 Dar El Ilm Lilmalayin is the oldest and largest leading privately owned publishing and distribution house of Arabic books and educational materials in the Arab world. It is also the first and major Arabic electronic multimedia producer company in the Arab world.

| Dar El Ilm Lilmalayin published the first best selling Arabic electronic book (Al Mawrid dictionary). Furthermore, it is the first publishing house to set up a Web site on the Internet in 1994. In 1998, it helped produce an electronic handheld Arabic Dictionary with Franklin.
Al-Mawrid Al-Qareeb Arabic-English and English-Arabic Dictionary is the most advanced dictionary in Arabic-speaking world.
